Frequently Asked Questions
About Applied Kinesiology
What is applied kinesiology? Applied kinesiology (AK) is a technique that uses manual muscle testing as one tool for gathering information during a health consultation. We combine what comes up in testing with your health history, symptoms, and any available lab work to help build a personalized natural medicine protocol.
Is applied kinesiology safe? Yes — muscle testing itself is non-invasive and painless. The bigger safety consideration is what it's used to guide: we always recommend keeping your physician informed about any supplements or protocol changes, especially if you're managing a diagnosed condition or taking prescription medication.
About The Practitioner
I came from a background where I was diagnosed with late-stage Lyme disease in my early 20s that went undiagnosed and untreated for many years. After many mounting personal medical costs that totalled well over a quarter million dollars, I finally started to feel better when I switched to a more holistic, natural medicine-based approach. I was finally able to overcome my debilitating condition, and after this life-changing experience, I decided to focus on helping and consulting others. I've spent many years training in different techniques, including nutrition response testing. I continue to educate myself and expand my knowledge across many disciplines of medicine from around the world, including Eastern medicine, Chinese medicine, homeopathy, whole food nutrition, and herbal medicine. I am a lifelong learner, highly passionate about the healing arts, and I hope to serve you with my broad base of knowledge and experience.
Consultations
What happens at my first consultation? We start with a conversation about your health history, symptoms, and goals, followed by a muscle testing session, a discussion of what came up, and a starting protocol with a follow-up plan. Full visits typically run 60–90 minutes.
Do you offer remote/virtual consultations? Yes. Remote sessions use surrogate testing — muscle testing performed with a clinical assistant to help build a comprehensive, customized natural health protocol for you — so you can still get the full consultation experience from anywhere.
What should I bring to my first consultation? A list of current medications and supplements (or the bottles themselves), any recent lab work or specialist reports, previous medical diagnoses, a list of current symptoms, and a completed intake form, which we'll send ahead of your appointment. We recommend sending these ahead of time (via email) so we have a chance to review everything before your visit.
How long does a consultation take? Plan for 60–90 minutes for a first consultation, and 30–45 minutes for follow-up consultations.
Do I need a referral to book a consultation? No referral is required. That said, we always encourage staying connected with your primary physician or specialist, particularly if you have a diagnosed chronic condition.
Protocols & Results
How long does it take to see results from a natural medicine protocol? Most clients start to notice some changes within 2–3 weeks, though this varies based on your condition, consistency with the protocol, and daily habits like diet, sleep, and stress. More significant changes are typically noticed over 1–2 months of maintaining steady, healthy habits.
Will my natural medicine protocol replace my current medication? No. Our protocols are designed to work alongside your existing medical care, not replace it. Any changes to prescribed medication should only be made in consultation with your prescribing physician.
What kind of products are included in a protocol? Protocols may include over-the-counter natural medicines (such as specific herbs, nutrients, or homeopathic remedies), dietary adjustments, and lifestyle recommendations uniquely personalized to your situation. No two protocols look alike, since each client is dealing with their own unique set of circumstances — which is why we incorporate muscle testing to help build your specialized protocol.
How often will I need follow-up visits? Follow-ups are typically scheduled 3–6 weeks after your initial consultation, then adjusted based on your progress and needs.
Conditions We Support
What conditions do you commonly work with?
We primarily support clients managing chronic conditions, including (but not limited to) Lyme disease, IBS (Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome), Autoimmune Gastritis, Crohn's disease, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, Hypothyroidism, Hyperthyroidism, Chronic Fatigue, Adrenal Fatigue, Addison's disease, Heavy metal toxicity, and Autoimmune Encephalitis, alongside their existing medical care. We also commonly work with clients who are unsatisfied with their current energy levels, or who experience symptoms such as pain, fatigue, or brain fog.
Can you diagnose my condition?
No. We do not use muscle testing as a way to replace your medical diagnosis. Instead, we use it to complement your existing medical tests and diagnosis, combined with your current symptoms, to build a personalized natural medicine protocol that fits you.
